1906 - 1992
Virgil H. WALKER, 85, died Sunday at 7:37 p.m. in DeKalb Memorial Hospital, Auburn.
A Garrett resident for 24 years, he was a carpenter with the Detroit
Carpenters Union for 25 years. He was a World War II vetern of the U.S.
Army, and was a member of the IOOF in Detroit.
Mr. WALKER was born Nov. 4, 1906 in Cowen, WV
He married Roberta (Gwenn) Ruby on Nov. 21, 1970, and she survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Roger of Ypsilanti, Mich., Terry of LaSalle,
Mich., Don of Greentown, Ind., David of Garrett, and Bob Ruby of Fort
Wayne; one daughter, Melissa Alday of Avilla; one brother, Artie of
Florida; one sister, Phala WALKER; 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild;
and a former wife, Beulah Garrettson of Belleville, Mich.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2 - 5 and 6 - 8 p.m. in McKee Miles Funeral
Home, Garrett.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev.
Charles Summers of Calvary Chapel Worship Center, Auburn, officiating.
Burial will be in Christian Union Cemetery, Garrett.
